Career
Wale Edun started his career as an economist at the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in Washington DC, where he worked on various African countries and macroeconomic issues. He then joined Citibank Nigeria as a senior manager in charge of corporate finance and treasury operations. He later moved to First Securities Discount House (FSDH), a merchant bank in Nigeria, where he rose to become the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer.

In 1999, he was appointed as the Commissioner for Finance in Lagos State by then-Governor Bola Tinubu. He served in this capacity for two consecutive terms until 2007. During his tenure, he implemented several reforms and initiatives that improved the fiscal management and revenue generation of the state. He also oversaw the issuance of the first sub-national bond in Nigeria and Africa by Lagos State in 2001.

In 2007, he founded Chapel Hill Denham Group, an investment banking and asset management firm that provides financial advisory, capital raising, securities trading, and investment management services to clients across Africa.
