Shantanu Muluk Case – How Shantanu got Involved in the Toolkit Conspiracy?
It all started after the Swedish environmental activist Greta Thunberg shared a “Toolkit” document on American microblogging and social networking service Twitter supporting the ongoing farmer’s protest on Twitter on February 3, 2021. Reports suggest that the document was created by Indian activists Disha Ravi, Shantanu Muluk, and Nikita Jacob to spread disaffection and tension against Indian secularity[1]NDTV.
Disha Ravi, the main accused of the controversial Toolkit Case was arrested earlier in February 2021. However, a non-bailable warrant was issued against Shantanu and Nikita days later to be guilty of editing and creating the Toolkit document and to be in direct touch with the Pro-Khalistani elements[2]Times of India.
However, according to the latest updates by the Media, it is reported that Shantanu Muluk has been granted transit bail by Justice Vibha Kankanwadi of the Bombay High Court for about ten days to enable him to apply for protection before the court in Delhi[3]India Today.
Muluk in his plea to the Bombay High Court claimed that his intentions to support the Farmer’s protest were bona Fide. Also, he said that he was just supporting the actual dissenters (farmers) to support them in their plea.

He further said that the case registered against him under section153-A (promoting enmity between different communities) is a violation of legal provisions in a democratic republic to raise a voice against rightful dissent.
After several anticipations, Justice Kankanwadi granted transit bail to Shantanu Muluk relieving him to apply for justice in a court of law in Delhi. Also, in its order, the Bombay High Court said that a sum of Rs. 50,000 as the personal bond will be released in the name of Shantanu Muluk if he is arrested in the Toolkit Case till the period of bail is over[4]India Today.
