In September 2015, the 24 years old girl made news headline by killing her boyfriend. She stabbed him 22 times in his chest. Later, Kenya police arrested her from her home.

Recently, on 19th July 2018, Justice Jessie Lesiit of the Kenya High Court sentenced her death penalty. According to the judge, Ruth found pleasure in stabbing her boyfriend 22 times. In fact, she was not remorseful even while in the court.

“Farid told me that he would rather kill me and himself than have his status exposed. I stabbed him severally using a kitchen knife. The knife which he was holding fell on my chest after I overpowered him by putting my two thumbs in his eyes to save my life” Ruth said.
