Ron Ely (born June 21, 1938) is an American Retired Actor and Novelist from Hereford, Texas. He is famous for portraying the role of Tarzan in the TV show of the same name back in 1966.
The actor made his silver screen debut with a small part as an airplane navigator in the movie titled “South Pacific” in 1958. Later, he starred films like The Fiend Who Walked the West (1958) and The Remarkable Mr. Pennypacker (1959).
Furthermore, Ron got the opportunity to play the lead part in the 1975 film “Doc Savage: The Man of Bronze”. Ely also acted in the hit series called “The Aquanauts” as Mike Madison in 1961.
Some of his other popular works are in The Night of the Grizzly, Slavers, Sheena, Renegade, etc. From 1980 to 1981, he even hosted Miss America Pageants and replaced Bert Parks.
Married Life, Spouse & Kids
The 81-years-old retired actor wedded two times in his life. During his high school days, he remained in the relationship with his ex-girlfriend, Cathy. Later, the couple tied the knot with each other in 1959.
Later, Ron and Cathy moved to Los Angeles, California in order to work in the entertainment industry. In one of his interviews, the actor revealed that his ex-wife was not ready to live in Los Angeles.
Then, in 1961, they ended their marriage and took divorce. For many years, Ely stayed single and concentrated on his career. Ron married his second spouse “Valerie Lundeen” in 1984 after dating each other for a while.
They welcomed three children i.e. two daughters Kirsten & Kaitland Ely and a son Cameron Ely. Unfortunately, on October 15, 2019, Cameron killed his mother by stabbing her to death.
Then, the same night Cameron Ely shot dead around 9:40 p.m by Santa Barbara County sheriff’s deputies. Ron Ely and the other members of the family have not released any official statement as of now.
