Pernell Whitaker (born January 2, 1964) is an American Boxer from Norfolk, USA. He was a four-weight best boxers on the planet, having won titles at lightweight, light welterweight, welterweight, and light middleweight; the undisputed lightweight title; and the lineal lightweight and welterweight titles.
Whitaker named Fighter of the Year by The Ring magazine in 1989. In addition to this, the Boxing Writers Association of America also praised his talent. From 1993 to 1997, The Ring positioned him as the best dynamic fighter on the planet.
Whitaker remembered as one of the best cautious fighters of all-time. However, he lost his life in a road accident at Northampton Boulevard and Baker Road intersection point in Virginia on July 14, 2019.
