Leila Janah (born October 9, 1982 – died January 24, 2020) was an American Businesswoman based in Lewiston, New York (USA). In 2008, she launched a company Samasource (Market for Change). Her main idea behind the company was to increase the income of the low-income group people.
Furthermore, she inspired her business idea while living in South Africa and Mumbai (India). Janah transformed the lives of around 50K people through her strong motivation. The workers of Samasource trained with necessary computer skills.
In addition to this, the employees paid a local living wage. Leila created connections with Google, General Motors, and Microsoft. Her social organization named the most innovative company.
In 2014, she became the youngest person to get the Heinz Award (2014). In the World Economic Forum 2012, she was also the youngest leader (Director, CARE USA). However, she died while battling from a rare form of cancer epithelioid sarcoma on January 24, 2020.
