Himanshu Rao Kalvakuntla is the grandson of Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao and the son of IT Minister K T Rama Rao. He is also the president of the Community Action Service (CAS) initiative of Oakridge International School, Khajaguda.
On July 12, 2023, he made his first public speech at the inauguration of a renovated government school building in Serilingampally, Hyderabad. He and his batch-mates had collected Rs 90 lakh for the renovation of the Mandal Parishad Primary School in Keshavanagar under CAS and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funds. He said that helping fellow students gave him immense happiness and he hoped that their initiative would bring qualitative changes in their lives.
